Boating & Fishing

There’s nothing quite like heading out to open waters with the wind blowing in your hair, or cruising home with your limit of fish after a day on the Manatee River, Tampa Bay, or the spectacular fishing grounds of the Gulf of Mexico. Our area offers the best of fresh and saltwater angling on the West Coast of Florida. Here you can stalk freshwater species such as Largemouth Bass and Brim or head out onto the flats and seek out Snook, Reds and Speckled Trout. Up for bigger game? Run offshore and tackle Grouper, Red Snapper, Cobia and an array of other offshore legends just a day trip out from home.

Whether you’re a boater or an angler—or both—get your fun and fishing on at Sanctuary Cove. Our location is perfect for you to get your fill of the water and best of all, boat slips come with the purchase of select homes. We also offer a boat lift to swiftly transfer your boat from our private lagoon to the beautiful Manatee River with ease.

The Adventure Begins at Sanctuary Cove

Pack up your cooler with your favorite snacks and beverages and get ready for a day of boating bliss. Cruise upriver or downstream and enjoy the pristine charms of old Florida on the Manatee River. Or, shift gears and set your sights for the open waters of Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. Whichever direction you choose, it’s an easy, breezy boater’s life for you.
Navigate your way to the fresh waters of Lake Manatee for a chance at largemouth bass and sunshine bass, speckled perch, and catfish. Or, kick it up a notch and head to Tampa Bay and its estuaries for inshore favorites like snook, redfish, speckled trout, sheepshead, black drum, and gulf flounder.
Offshore fishing is also easily accessible from Sanctuary Cove. Head out approximately 30 miles into the Gulf of Mexico where you can pursue bigger trophies including kingfish, gag grouper, red grouper, mangrove snapper, permit, cobia, Spanish mackerel, and even sharks. It’s an angler’s paradise at Sanctuary Cove!
